Usage of rotary evaporator
The rotary evaporator is relatively simple to use. Firstly, pour the solution to be evaporated into a beaker and deliver it to the rotary flask of the rotary evaporator. Turn on the heating switch, adjust the heating temperature, turn on the vacuum pump, and wait for the liquid to evaporate. When bubbles emerge, strengthen the vacuum. During the evaporation process, regularly observe the liquid level and inject new solvents in a timely manner to avoid excessive liquid level rise, otherwise it will affect the evaporation speed. After completion, stop heating and vacuum, turn off the equipment, and collect the remaining solution.
When using a rotary evaporator, there are several points to pay attention to. Attention should be paid to the heating temperature, which should not be too high, otherwise it will cause denaturation of the sample and reduce the purification effect. Before using the equipment, ensure that the vacuum pump is working properly to avoid poor evaporation due to insufficient vacuum. When using, protective equipment such as gloves and masks should be worn to avoid injury from equipment heat and solution splashing.
