Test method for sealing of glass reactor.

Nov. 10. 2022

Tightness is an important performance index of glass reactor. Because the reactor often conducts reaction experiments with harmful chemicals, the consequences of leakage accidents are very serious. The glass reactor will be tested for sealing before leaving the factory, but the sealing may be reduced when the equipment is operated for a long time. In order to prevent leakage during reaction test, it is necessary to regularly test the sealing.

Test method for sealing of glass reactor.

Heating and pressurization can be used to test the tightness of the reactor. Air, nitrogen, etc. can be used as the experimental medium. Oxygen or other flammable and explosive gases are prohibited.

The pressure is measured by heating and boosting. The heating and boosting process must be carried out slowly. The heating rate shall not exceed 80 degrees per hour. During the pressure test, connect the compressor or high-pressure pump to the inlet valve of the glass reactor. The pressure can be increased by several times, taking the working pressure as the distance, staying for 5 minutes per liter of 1 MPa, and staying for 30 minutes when rising to the test pressure. Observe the sealing.

During the test of glass reactor, if air leakage is found, the pressure shall be reduced first, and then the nuts and joints shall be properly tightened. It is prohibited to tighten under high pressure.
