What do we need to pay attention to when using a rotary evaporator in terms of the water bath?

When using a rotary evaporator, attention should be paid to the following points regarding the water bath:

Medium selection for heating water (oil) bath: Heating water (oil) bath generally uses clean water as the heating medium. If there are special temperature requirements, it can be replaced with silicone oil or high-temperature silicone oil. Before use, an appropriate amount of clean tap water should be injected into the pot, with the water surface at least 5cm above the heating tube.

Water level monitoring: When the water level in the studio is below the minimum line, an appropriate amount of water should be added in a timely manner.

Power safety: The electrical rated parameters of the power socket provided by the user should be greater than the electrical rated parameters of the machine. Damaged power plugs or electrical equipment malfunctions should be repaired by professional personnel. When replacing a fuse, be sure to cut off the power first.

High temperature protection: When using this machine at high temperatures, do not directly contact the upper part of the instrument to avoid burns.

Work environment: Do not use water (oil) baths in areas with high temperatures and direct sunlight. Do not move the machine while working and do not allow objects to collide with the machine. Do not touch the pot body during use to avoid burns.

Cooling system: After use, if heating above 35℃ is used, the temperature should be set to 35℃ to prevent the bath from overheating.
